Gold Country weekend

I never wrote about my weekend did I. Well here are the non-in-law related highlights
- we stayed at the Best Western Placerville Inn, which was quite nice. Very clean, very well run.
- we went panning for gold in the American River at Coloma. This was super fun. We bought a couple of plastic gold pans in Placerville. At one point I was sitting on a rock at the edge of the river and I could just look in the river and see the gold flakes glittering in the river. Next time will bring my water sandals tho, cause those rocks are too hard to walk barefoot on
- went briefly into a thrift shop in Angel's Camp, cool prices, but nothing took my fancy.
- went into a great yarn shop in Sonora, got a couple balls of this thick and thin type yarn in purply pink shades, and a super soft ball of black Merino, microfibre, cashmere blend that I'm gonna finish my hat off with.
- I want to go back up there again, just with Mr jo, maybe visit some of the wineries, and see more of the southern gold country (like south of Angel's Camp)
- It was really hot.

My parents live in a town right near Sonora... do you remember the name of the yarn shop? I'd like to check it out the next time I visit them.

I have the bag at home, and can post it when I get home. It was two doors down from the Diamondback Grille tho, on the main street.
