Another weekend, another babyshower
Feb. 22nd, 2003 07:53 pmHad the babyshower today for one of my dance troupe mates. We had a really really nice time. Our director, M, and her partner just bought a big Victorian (their dream) which they are now fixing up. We had the shower at their place. We had afternoon tea, and dressed up gypsy like. We had scones, fruit salad, quiche, tea sandwiches etc. Tons of food, different types of tea.
Then when we were opening presents we talked about 'women stuff' having babies, periods etc. Things no man should know!! Ha ha ha. Well, of course it was stuff a man could know, but as we were talking I remember thinking how fun it was to just be talking about this stuff, and how nice and cozy it was, with just the girls.
I felt a bit bad about the presents. M now has zero extra money cause it's all going into the house. I bought and made lots of pressies, cause I love giving them (and J's hubby has been unemployed for 2 years now). One of the onesies that I gave was the same one that was M's pressie to J. I hope she didn't feel bad, her present was hosting anyway.
I made the favours, and they went down really well. I made marble magnets, and I used our pictures off our website. A face on each marble. So we each have a set of the 5 of us.
When I got home, I seemed to get instantly depressed though. I guess holdover from yesterday's crappy day. There's a rental hall across the street from our apt building, and there's a party right now, so there was NO parking anywhere near. I went back out to run an errand, but the party is still going on.
Saint Chris demonstrated his usual wonderful patience. although he always blames himself and says it's something he musta done to piss me off, when I know it's just me taking out my grrrs on him. Still, I did tell him so, so at least we're not agro about it.
He's wonderful, he just told me I'm beautiful. I thank my lucky stars for him everyday.
