So our company today is erecting a huge US flag on it's front signage.
I went out there and scoffed to them how it was covering up our company name, and no one would no who was being patriotic.
I also asked them if they were going to put up an Australian flag. More scoffing, and 'Australia is over there?'
Umm, duh!
Yes, it's not just American aka Self Professed Saviour of the World, that's over there. They suggested I take it up with our CEO, I'll think about that!
I recounted this to my coworkers, and they said, well, this is America and we're supporting our troops.
My response to that is, you're not the only ones over there, and this company isn't even American, it's friggin Singaporean!
I don't understand why Americans have such a problem acknowledging their allies. They're fine with putting down their non-allies (bagging on French etc), but heavens forbid another flag should stand with yours.
I could take this up with senior management I suppose, but I already know it would go nowhere.
Lame arses.
