Bummer, didn't get in

Got the letter today. Didn't get the job.
Bit of a bummer, but oh well. At least it's all over and done with.
Mum and Dad are right, although the job would have been interesting it would have been stressful and it would have been hard to plan anything that I would have wanted to do.
I should really start looking at going back to school, for a nursing degree, to find out what's involved.
thanks for all the support through this guys, it has really helped

Ah sweets, I'm sorry. :(

On a brighter note, nursing school, eh? Very interesting! What inspired that? I'll bet you would make a great nurse!! Nurse Jo has a nice ring to it! :)

thanks, well, spent some time in hospitals last year, hanging out with Mum! I really like the idea that it's a job that you can take with you anywhere, and that they're in demand. Plus there's so many different areas that you could work in, not just hospitals.
Hope you can make it tomorrow, I have a pressie for you!

I think nursing is a great way to help people. I can totally see you doing that. Besides being smart, you're also caring and I'll bet you could make people in the hospital (or wherever you go) feel a lot better. Go Nurse Jo!
And you'd get to wear white Danskos too, ha ha! :)

I'm still not 100% sure about tomorrow, but I'm going to try. A pressie? For ME? What did I do to deserve that? It's not my birthday, or is it? You know, you get this old you start to forget these things. Ha.

Can you make it tomorrow afternoon to the SnB at my place? We gotta meet you IRL one of these days! Hazel is welcome too, I have toys she can play with

oh, that sucks :(

I think you would be a great nurse though! Do they pay well in the US? At least you would be doing something to help people, which I don't think you get from your current job...

They passed you up for somebody else? Maybe I'm biased but I think they made the wrong decision there ;). And you deserve better than a letter. I've had to go through two (sometimes painful) vendor appliations for my job. I always make sure to call the applicants who didn't get the position to thank them in person for their time and effort for the process.

Anyhow, I know how disappointing it is to pursue something and then not be selected. In my current job search, I haven't even yet been called in for an in-person interview. Either because they just have way too many candidates or because they're only interviewing internal people and only advertised the position to meet their legal requirements. So it's a kudo to you that you got asked to come in for an interview.

I had idea about your interest in nursing, but I can certainly see it. A friend of mine from UCSC (who's BA is in Literature) went through the MS program at UCSF and is supposedly quite pleased with her degree.

I'm sorry sugar. But maybe you can look at it as a good thing. Maybe you would have hated that job and would have resented how long the whole application process lasted. I'm glad you are having a good attitude about it! Smooches!
