Soccer, whoooo! OK, here's the details about going to the soccer match. I will definately be going, so if you'd like to come along, this is very easy and DIY :)
The game is at 7pm. The parking lot opens 4 hours before hand at 3pm. I will be down there at 3pm, to allow sufficient beer drinking and bbq-ing time ;)
When you drive to the stadium, we park and tailgate on the east side of the stadium. This is the parking lot off of 10th St, you can google map it - 1251 S. 10th Street, San Jose, CA 95112. Parking costs, I think $5-8?
We tailgate with a big group that sit just to the left of the entrance gate (as you're looking at it). As we'll be there when it opens, we should be easy enough to find.
We like to sit in the 'Clash' section, this is where the people stand a lot, sing rude songs, have a big banner they pull out when a goal is scored, bang drums etc. It's the north end section (I believe N2 section), tickets are $13 there:

We'll just be buying our tickets when we get there. You can tell the ticket people that you want to sit in that section where the Clash sit (the loud rowdy section) and they should know where that is. We never worry about what exact seats we get. The area is never full, and we all just sit where ever around there. If you want a break from the loud, you'll easily be able to move around somewhere quieter for a spell.
My friend Bill will have a grill, and as there is plenty of time, there's always grill space. The rest of the people there often have food to share, they're a fun and friendly group.
So, bring your own drinks (beer, waters, sodas etc - you can bring water in a plastic bottle into the stadium), and whatever you would like to eat, be it something for the grill or not. Chris and I will prolly grab some snausages and a prepacked salad from TJ's. There are also plenty of concessions within the stadium for later. Bring a chair if you like. I will have a couple of ground blankets as well. The area where we sit it pretty shady, which is nice, and it's not supposed to be too hot on Sat. I may bring my little popup shade tent, just in case.
If you would like to drive down with me and Chris in our car (we can take two), you need to be at our place no later than 2pm. Please let me know if you'd like a ride. Otherwise, if you can make it, we'll see you there!
