Great weekend in LA
Jun. 9th, 2003 12:06 amHad a great weekend in LA, although I missed Mr jo, it was really nice to go down on my own too. Even the drive on my own wasn't too bad.
The festival was nice, I bought a new skirt, Turkish style, with 22 yard hem at the bottom, woohoo! Also a new tank unitard, with a lace stretch net insert. And some rattly noisemaker things, which I may wear for our mask routine, if we ever get to it!
I stayed with my old roomate, and she came to the festival with me on Saturday. We took in some gin and pimms and had drinkies in the afternoon. We also did some Henna. My instructor Miranda did some on my hand. I only realised on the drive home that it will still be there when I have my interview. I'm not that bothered tho, should make me more memorable!
We went to Zankhou chicken for dinner, which is a small chain of middle eastern food, with the yummiest chicken! Then two doors down was this great Baklava place. My sister met us there for dinner, so I got to see her too this weekend.
Today, Sunday, Connie Lynne and I went down to Hollywood to go to Oriental Silks fabric store, but it was closed :(
We ended up going to a rug store on Fairfax, and I bought a rug! 5'x 8', wool for $98, which I thought was quite a deal. It's a whole bunch of motifs in a diamond pattern on a black background, with dusky blues and greens and reds. I'll have to post a pic of it. I've never had a rug before, it's kinda cool!
Well, I shoulda gone to bed hours ago, night night!
