Waitinnnnnngggg

Mr jo had his interview with my Background Investigation Officer this morning, it was only 15mins. Cause you know my nefarious past takes so long to go into! Chris said it was pretty much standard, confirming questions.
The hiring freeze is still on. They apparently really want/need to hire some people, as they are spread thin at the Dispatch centre there. It's just all the budget issues that need to be resolved first. So they are continuing on with the BI's. Don't know if they will have interviews as well in the meantime. Hopefully the dept will contact us candidates and let us know any updates.
urgh, this feels worse after the 6 month application process then if I just didn't make it through as a candidate at some point!

man, so how much money do they spend on background investigations? i'll bet they easily spend the equivalent of the salary for the position they are trying to fill on the hiring process to fill htat position.....welcome to the california bureaucratic system!

I'm sure quite a bit! There's a lot of manhours going into it. That's what gets me with their practice of making you reapply if you went through the application once already, 'passed' but didn't get hired. You'd think they'd keep a list of 'passed' people they could interview from.
Maybe that will change with the budget cuts!
