got a new (well, new used) scooter today!!!
The wanting just overcame the needing, and in a semi compromise move, went with the cheaper (and newer) 2005 Burgman 400, over the 03 650.
It's a smooth ride! Didn't take it above 70 on the ride home from buying it in Concord, so will have to see about getting her a little faster than that (purely research to see how fast she goes ;) ) once I get the insurance sorted out.
Ok, off to check out what accessories I want to eventually get.

I am likely getting my learner's permit in the next week or two. Things are changing, and I think I will need to drive myself to school on the scoot.
Hey - let me know if you want to meet up next Sat morning for the white elephant sale. I want to be there when it opens, just in case there is vintage dress waiting for me. I was planning on BARTing it to Fruitvale and walking. Xtian said it's only about 15 minutes.
