I was just crying while I was watching the news story about the same sex couples getting married today up in SF. It was so beautiful and wonderful. They were so happy and so determined to keep fighting for this.

The people on the other side of this, I just don't understand, why do they care! These people aren't hurting anybody, all that crap about the sanctity of marriage.
Well, first off, I think gay people are perfectly capable of having a committed stable loving relationship with wonderful family values and raise children together.

So, apart from all that, if you just look at it from an equal rights, non-discrimination view, and that we're talking here about CIVIL MARRIAGE! Not religous marriage - sanctity of marriage has nothing to do with it! It's about getting the same benefits as other people.

The religous right can go fuck themselves, they're a bunch of hypocrites.

Right on. How in the world does allowing gay people to marry affect hetero marriages? You nailed, it's all about religion, and last time I checked we had separation of church and state (despite Dubya's best efforts).

I saw that, too. We watched the beginning of an California newscast and that was the top story. The scolding tone in the anchorman's voice made me throttle him throught the TV! Civil disobedience. :oP Perhaps if the laws were actually civil people would be obedient.

I cried in the car on the way home from work yesterday, while listening to the news on NPR.
